Cobble Hill
Townhouse.
We collaborated with READ Architecture Design DPC on this Cobble Hill townhouse extension — a rear addition that reorganizes the family’s daily life around a single, garden-facing volume.
The interior is finished in continuous microtopping — a poured cementitious floor that runs unbroken from the front parlor through to the new patio doors. The effect is one long, calm plane; the architecture of the addition does the rest.
Two pieces of bespoke millwork carry the project. A deep-navy feature wall houses a fireplace and a recessed library nook; opposite, a custom bunk-bed wall in oak is built into a hand-built archway, lacquered olive, with stair-and-storage detailing engineered to disappear into the room. Black steel-framed windows and doors anchor the new façade against the existing brick.
