W 15th Street Coop
Remodel.
A full renovation of a Chelsea co-op on West 15th Street, in collaboration with DTLS Architecture. The home is a study in restraint: a single warm-toned herringbone floor, a single oak millwork language, and three or four small surprises hidden in plain sight.
The great room’s vaulted ceiling is anchored by a single slab of Italian marble running floor-to-ceiling around the fireplace — a quiet centerpiece that sets the room’s temperature. Bathrooms are wrapped in book-matched marble; there are no decorative seams here, only continuous stone.
The library is the project’s set piece. Custom oak millwork lines the room from floor to vaulted ceiling, with a hidden door built into the shelving that opens to the adjoining hall — a small detail done correctly, which is the project’s thesis.
